Literature Text

Worry about life,
it worries not for me.

These things I carry,
so worrisome.

A test this week,
two essays the next.
Homework! do not forget,
Try and do your best.

Books and paper
         and pencils
             and pens
weigh me down
        down

Yet the anchor,
sinking me,
my mind,
my heart,
down,
are those,
things,
simple, complex,
little things,
called emotions.

Worry:
will my grandma make it?
what about my mom?
my aunt and uncle driving crazy,
like ants over bodies.

My father and brother,
work, work, work, work,
My dog,
alone, alone, alone, alone.

My friends,
are they alright?
My dearest one,
so loooong I haven't seen
her.

These worries, these
things I carry,
with me.
I have to,
need to,
carry,
because,
I care.
This is the first piece of poetry I have written in... a REALLY LONG TIME. Darn. Yeah, I guess that's life. I actually wrote this for English class, liked the basis of it, made some edits, and decided to post it. All comments/suggestions are welcome. :)

This is a decent poem, truthfully speaking :) I like the overall sentiment in the poem, and how you've presented the "little worries" and how they can become a serious burden if left to themselves. Its simple, and concise. Well written
